But seriously, imagine if every 14-year-old could cook five incredibly delicious, nourishing dinners for themselves and their families! What a wonderful gift that would be to them, to their families and to the world.
This five-day mini course is designed to give young people (11+) skills, comfort and confidence in the kitchen and teach them how to cook essential, beloved dishes that they’ll make for the rest of their lives. In these live classes we will also cover basic kitchen and knife safety, menu planning and kitchen management. These are the crucial skills every human needs to know before living on their own. No prior experience necessary.

DAY 1:
BUTTERMILK PANCAKES
LEVEL UP: MAPLE-CANDIED BACON
Learn the three secrets to perfectly fluffy pancakes, plus how to add berries or chocolate chips if you want! Add some oven-roasted bacon, sweetened up with real maple syrup, and you’ve got breakfast..or breakfast for dinner!
Gluten-free and dairy-free options. Pancakes are vegetarian.
DAY 2:
CHEESY DUTCH BABY & CAESAR SALAD
LEVEL UP: IRISH BROWN BREAD
Imagine if an omelette and a crepe got together in a wild fusion experiment, and you've got a Dutch baby. It’s also my favourite kitchen magic trick, and the best 15-minute meal you can make from what’s already in your fridge. Oh, you like magic? Wait til you learn how to make your own bread in less than an hour!
Vegetarian. GF and DF option for the main course.

DAY 3:
STICKY KOREAN BEEF & JASMINE RICE
LEVEL UP: RASPBERRY FOOL
Hands-down the recipe I get the most "excited-parent" emails about, Sticky Korean Beef is a fave with kids everywhere. It’s sweet and salty and sticky and lovely and a fabulous quick meal. Raspberry fool is a nifty little 3-ingredient dessert that is easy enough for a weeknight. Vegetarian option.
Fully GF menu. Main course is DF.
DAY 4:
CREAMY BRIE & TOMATO LINGUINE
LEVEL UP: DOUBLE CHOCOLATE COOKIES
Campers love their pasta! (Don’t we all?) We’ll take juicy summer tomatoes, chopped up and mixed with this and that and marinate it with tons of Brie cheese. When hot pasta hits the Brie, it melts and coats every strand in a luscious, creamy sauce. Oh, yeah. Level-Uppers will make chocolate-chocolate chip cookies that are part fudgy brownie and part crispy cookie.
Vegetarian.

DAY 5:
CHICKEN FAJITAS
LEVEL UP: FRUIT CRUMBLE
No sizzling platters here, but we’re going to roast everything for delicious fajitas on one sheet pan! It’s such a fun supper (and clean-up is a breeze….). We’ll also make a summer fruit crumble to celebrate everyone graduating from Camp Week!
GF, DF options for main course. DF option for Level Up. Vegetarian option.
Substitutions will be available for participants who are vegetarian, lactose, nut or dairy free.
Parental involvement is neither expected nor encouraged (except for getting groceries...and eating a delicious dinner made for you by your child!)
